Floorcloths
are exactly what their name suggests. Originally, floorcloths, or oilcloths,
were cheap alternatives to carpet. Mine are portraits done on canvas
which is then polyurethaned for durability. They can be cleaned with
a commercial product like Mop 'n' Glow and will last indefinitely. I
think they are a cool alternative to a wall canvas.
The thing I miss the most about not doing personal portraits since I started licensing my designs several years ago is the contact with the customers. Let's face it, animal people are good people! I love hearing stories about the pets (which makes capturing personalities easier) and sharing stories of my own. Personal photo sessions, though rare, are among my favorite times. I just love meeting new dogs! I've done hundreds, but these are a few of my favorites... Ask about any ideas you might have for a unique portrait of your own pet! |
